Cherry chopsticks & Bamboo cups in Akihabara (Chiyoda, Tokyo)

You can buy elegant Japanese chopsticks made from cherry trees and very light cups made from bamboo at Kukan-kobo Takuya, high-quality shop specialized in wooden products near Akihabara station (Chiyoda ward, Tokyo). Wouldn’t they make great souvenirs or gifts from your travel in Japan?

Purple wisteria flowers in Tokyo at Kanda shrine and Zenkoku-ji

In Tokyo today, we enjoyed the sight of purple wisteria flowers hanging on a terrace (easy to miss) beside Kanda shrine in Chiyoda area then at the Buddhist temple Zenkoku-ji of Shinjuku area. As wisteria is considered a flower of May in Japan, it was a good surprise to see these flowers so early in April during our walking tours “Insight Into Art: Origami? Shinto?” and “Kagurazaka, Charming Tokyo” with a traveller from Australia :)

This morning, our guide photographed beautiful flowers in the lobby of Hotel Grand Palace while waiting for the start of our walking tour “Kagurazaka, Charming Tokyo”.

Art in Tokyo: White cow with golden wings (Chiyoda district)

While walking from Ochanomizu station to our travel agency, one of our guides just discovered a cute statue: white cow with golden wings!
