Discover interesting beautiful games from Japan on tatami mats! Look, touch and play janken, karuta card games, sugoroku board games… We will discuss their rules, traditional/modern designs, and connexions with the Japanese culture and lifestyle. Children and adults, enjoy! 1 drink included.

Meet a friendly Japanese tea specialist to discover Japanese tea. Feel the surface and weight of traditional utensils… Compare the shape, colour, smell and taste of 5 types of tea before and after brewing: leaves, branches and added rice! Prepare your tea with traditional green tea powder and a bamboo tool then drink it!
Location: Marebito tea house in Tokyo from Monday to Saturday (start time of your choice between 15:00 and 18:00) in April 2014.
Vegan sushi workshop

New activity started in February 2017 to help travellers who are vegan/vegetarian or have difficulties enjoying Japanese food due to the specificities of their religion!
Discover Japanese vegetables, make vegan sushi with experienced chefs then savour the healthy food you prepared during vegan sushi-making workshops organized by Yes In Japan! The ingredients may include avocado, coconut, ginger, nori seaweed, okra, shiitake mushrooms… and the favourite rice of your cooking lesson’s teacher 🙂

Washi Paper Time

New afternoon activity started in April 2014 to present wonderful paper “Made in Japan” to foreigners!
Practice traditional Japanese arts on tatami mats with a set of high-quality handmade paper “Washi”. Make a simple object based on “origami” paper folding then create a colourful landscape with Mount Fuji based on “chigiri-e” collage techniques! Fun and interesting for children and adults alike. 1 drink included.
