Romantic tour in Kagurazaka (Tokyo): Calendar for May & June 2014

Our romantic walking tour “Kagurazaka, Charming Tokyo” is now available in English or French on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in May and June 2014. Try to book at least one business day before your chosen date to enable us to check whether a Shinto wedding ceremony is scheduled at one of the visited shrines and to adapt the tour accordingly.

Kagurazaka is one of the pearls of Tokyo! Feel love at the nearby site of the first Shinto wedding, discover a maze of charming small streets in Kagurazaka and enter a beautiful modern shrine with intriguing lucky charms and a bright coffee shop! On the way back, we will introduce you to the shopping street and to products of Japan’s culture: Japanese sweets, green tea, gorgeous kimono dresses, flower-shaped hairpins…

Purple wisteria flowers in Tokyo at Kanda shrine and Zenkoku-ji

In Tokyo today, we enjoyed the sight of purple wisteria flowers hanging on a terrace (easy to miss) beside Kanda shrine in Chiyoda area then at the Buddhist temple Zenkoku-ji of Shinjuku area. As wisteria is considered a flower of May in Japan, it was a good surprise to see these flowers so early in April during our walking tours “Insight Into Art: Origami? Shinto?” and “Kagurazaka, Charming Tokyo” with a traveller from Australia 🙂

An English speaker knowing the area and Japanese culture will show the way, point out interesting or fun things, explain in English, recommend restaurants, translate your questions from English to Japanese and answers from Japanese to English if necessary. Each group is limited to 8 participants so we can go to narrow/crowded places and discuss freely…

Starting points for our walks, Hotel Niwa Tokyo (near our travel agency), Tokyo Dome Hotel (near our travel agency) and Hotel Grand Palace (near Yasukuni shrine) are convenient hotels for your stay in Tokyo. In the Jimbocho area, you may also consider Sakura Hotel Jimbocho.

Finally, you can still join special walks to enjoy Tokyo’s last cherry blossoms: “2014 Best Cherry Blossoms” and “2014 Sweet Sakura Evening“. Enjoy your Spring holidays in Japan!
