Romantic tour in Kagurazaka (Tokyo): Calendar for May & June 2014

Our romantic walking tour “Kagurazaka, Charming Tokyo” is now available in English or French on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in May and June 2014. Try to book at least one business day before your chosen date to enable us to check whether a Shinto wedding ceremony is scheduled at one of the visited shrines and to adapt the tour accordingly.

Kagurazaka is one of the pearls of Tokyo! Feel love at the nearby site of the first Shinto wedding, discover a maze of charming small streets in Kagurazaka and enter a beautiful modern shrine with intriguing lucky charms and a bright coffee shop! On the way back, we will introduce you to the shopping street and to products of Japan’s culture: Japanese sweets, green tea, gorgeous kimono dresses, flower-shaped hairpins…

This romantic tour in Chiyoda and Shinjuku wards usually starts at the convenient Hotel Grand Palace but we remain flexible, like our Spring calendar.

Cherry chopsticks & Bamboo cups in Akihabara (Chiyoda, Tokyo)

You can buy elegant Japanese chopsticks made from cherry trees and very light cups made from bamboo at Kukan-kobo Takuya, high-quality shop specialized in wooden products near Akihabara station (Chiyoda ward, Tokyo). Wouldn’t they make great souvenirs or gifts from your travel in Japan?

April 2014 in Tokyo: Calendar of walks in English by YES IN JAPAN

We propose unique walks in English for foreign tourists in Tokyo during April 2014, with two highlights: (1) the new “Akihabara Crazy World” for fans of anime, cosplay, maids, robots, video games… and (2) the popular “Insight Into Art: Origami? Shinto?” for art and tradition lovers as well as people interested in the Shinto religion. To explore other facets of Japanese life and culture, enjoy our walks with small streets, traditional shops, Buddhist temples, relics of Japanese history…

An English speaker knowing the area and Japanese culture will show the way, point out interesting or fun things, explain in English, recommend restaurants, translate your questions from English to Japanese and answers from Japanese to English if necessary. Each group is limited to 8 participants so we can go to narrow/crowded places and discuss freely…

Starting points for our walks, Hotel Niwa Tokyo (near our travel agency), Tokyo Dome Hotel (near our travel agency) and Hotel Grand Palace (near Yasukuni shrine) are convenient hotels for your stay in Tokyo. In the Jimbocho area, you may also consider Sakura Hotel Jimbocho.
